Nickel as a potential disruptor of thyroid function: benchmark modelling of human data

Introduction Nickel (Ni) is one of the well-known toxic metals found in environment. However, its influence on thyroid function not explored enough. Hence, aim this study was to analyse potential Ni disrupt by exploring relationship between blood concentration and serum hormone levels (TSH, T4, T3, fT4 fT3), as well parameters homeostasis (SPINA-GT SPINA-GD) using correlation analysis Benchmark (BMD) concept. Methods measured ICP-MS method, while CLIA used for determination. SPINA Thyr software calculate SPINA-GT SPINA-GD parameters. BMD performed PROAST (70.1). The limitations are small sample size uneven distribution healthy unhealthy subjects, limited confounding factors, age subjects that could have influenced obtained results.
